Mini Essay-For this project, I redesigned the Georgia Aquarium by turning it into a frozen environment. I wanted to show how sudden environmental changes can dramatically affect both marine life and human spaces. The aquarium now looks like time has stopped, with ice covering the tunnels and fish frozen mid-swim, creating a surreal and dramatic scene. To achieve this effect, I added ice textures, frost, and icicles throughout the aquarium. I also included snow and fog to make the scene feel more realistic and give it depth. The colors were adjusted to cooler blue tones to create a feeling of coldness and isolation. To add on to the isolation I removed the girl from the original photo to really show that the aqaurium is stuck in time. These choices help the viewer feel the stillness and quiet of a world suddenly frozen. I used layer masks to blend the ice and frost into the scene naturally. Adjustment layers helped control the lighting and color, while blend modes were used to make reflections and transparency in the ice look believable. These tools together made the frozen aquarium feel immersive and real.Overall, this redesign shows how environmental forces can quickly change familiar places. The frozen aquarium reminds viewers of the delicate balance between nature and human environments and encourages us to think about how fragile our surroundings can be.
